My daddy is happy. When I see him, I smile and think of all the fun memories we’ve made.
My daddy is funny. He can fill any room with laughter and happiness as we giggle at the silly sounds he makes.
My daddy cares. When I’m scared, he puts my cape of bravery around my neck and lifts me high in the air. Nothing can stop me when I soar.
My daddy is kind and good. When others try and hurt me, he nurtures me and reminds me that my secret superpower is strength… and no one can take away power that they don’t have.
My daddy is handsome. His milk chocolate skin will always remind me of a sweet Hershey kiss.
My daddy is smart. He is always learning and teaches me what it means to love and show grace.
My daddy is hardworking. He thinks about even the small things and makes sure that he gets the job done, no matter what.
When I think of my daddy I think of me, because one day I want to be just like him.
But that will never be enough for the world. To them…
My daddy is a threat. If he walks down the wrong street, he may never make it home to tuck me in before I sleep.
My daddy is a wild animal. Untamable and not worthy your time. Why train something so out of control, when it’d be easier just to put him down?
My daddy is an example. If he dies, maybe the others will finally lose hope and shut up about being equal.
My daddy is guilty. He may not have done anything now, but eventually, he will.
My daddy is expendable. No one cares if he never sees me graduate preschool, they’re too concerned with the mundane things that they forget about the next day.
When I think of my daddy, I miss him. We walk hand in hand as I think of how many days I have him by my side before he’s ripped away from me.
When I look in his eyes, I see the best daddy ever. When you see him, what do you see?
