When I’m with him, the rest of the world fades away. When we’re apart, I feel empty. A hole that can only be filled when we’re together. When he speaks to me, my heart races. Every time he says my name, my knees go weak.

I’m scared. Being in a relationship means commitment. Commitment means sacrifice. Sacrifice means giving up what I love most:

My necessities. My aspirations.

Here, in this moment, I want him… Until it gets tough. Nonetheless, I don’t want anything serious. He’s my best kept secret! We rarely go on dates; I can’t seem to find the time. I have a busy life!

When he loves, it’s intense. If I give him my heart, I know he’ll treat it right. But, I’m not ready to expose myself.

I want more, but I’m content here. Comfortable with the familiar. When I call, I know he’ll answer. If I need something, he’s there. What you see as unhealthy? I see as convenience. Why fix something that isn’t broken?

Then, He said it. So gentle, so caring. “I love you. Be mine forever.”

This wasn’t what I, what we, discussed! Changing the rules of the game was never the plan! I thought we were just having fun. But, when I’m with Him, the world fades away. When we’re apart, I feel empty. Only He can fill the hole in my heart.

I’m scared to let anyone in, but with Him, it’s… different. The walls around my heart start to fall as I think of what could be. No matter how much I deeply love, it’ll be nothing in comparison. For better or worse, He stands by me. Supports me.

God, if you’ll have me, I choose You too. Will you be mine?
